On 05 August, 2006, Kirsten and Nate were married. The wedding took place at the Orcas Hotel on Orcas Island at 5:00 in the evening, and by all accounts went exceedingly well. Officiated by Pat O'Brien and Becky Bradshaw, violin instrumental music by Kristy Preheim, ring bearing by Carter Hauge, flower pedal disbursing by Olivia Hauge, and with readings by Reena Volkoun and Andrea Johnson, the couple successfully wed to an audience of 100 adults and a dozen children. The party convened for a fabulous buffet dinner catered by the hotel during which the groom's brother, Aaron, and the bride's cousin, Shelley, gave heartfelt toasts. After the delicious meal, the party moved indoors for the cupcake cutting and first dance. During the first dance, to Aqualung's "Brighter Than Sunshine," the couple, self-conscious that the dance was getting a little long and uninteresting, executed a perfect flip of the bride by the groom. And the rest is history.

And now, an excerpt from:   the best... toast... ever....

There once was a man named Nathan
Who found his world too complacent
Sitting at a desk all day
Counting people's cash for pay
He needed to find a replacement

So one day Nathan became N8
and he took on some interesting traits
He grew out his hair and grew out a beard and put a tattoo on his arm
And he wandered the hills, searching for thrills, and caused Mom and Dad much alarm

And...
There once was a woman named Kirsten
Who came from a place called Minnesconsin
Kirsten had a passion you don't often see
She wanted to study venereal disease
But she also wanted to live in the mountains

So one day Kirsten became Q
And she packed up her gear and test tubes
She traded her lab coat for a warm puffy vest
And when she'd saved up a sum, she hopped in her plum and drove on out to the west

And then...
One day N8 was on a mountain somewhere
Gasping for breath in rarified air
When what did he see?
A scientist on skis
And they smiled like the sun's bright glare

Which brings us here on today's fine date
On a beautiful island to celebrate
A union everyone knew was fate
So hold your glasses up here
Like a triumphal return beer
And let's toast to the couple named Q8
